NPFL threatens to sanction Bayelsa United over ‘false’ accusation

The Nigeria Professional Football League has directed Bayelsa United to provide substantial evidence of their allegation against Lobi Stars.
Bayelsa United wrote a letter to the NPFL this week claiming that Lobi Stars plan to use unethical means to achieve victory in their matchday 27 game.
The NPFL stated that it is unable to proceed with an investigation into Bayelsa United’s complaint against Lobi Stars owing to a lack of concrete evidence specifying details such as time, location and nature of alleged statements.

The league body viewed Bayelsa United’s allegation as a grave accusation that demands substantial evidence for validation.
It further said that Bayelsa United would be sanctioned if the club failed to provide compelling and verifiable proof of their allegation.
League leaders Lobi Stars will entertain Bayelsa United at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday.
